Target Audience: Academic and Extension Faculty
Length: 8:30-3:30
Learning Objective: To assist AGNR faculty with the development of proposals in agriculture, natural resources, food safety, and nutrition and health.
Description: The day-long workshop will lead participants through the process of developing a successful grant submission, sharing many tips compiled over many years as an applicant and reviewer. We will discuss what constitutes a successful proposal, how to participate in the review process, proposal organization, where to look for funds, why foundations can be a significant source of funding, developing ideas that are fundable, how to put together a team to seek an integrated proposal, and much more. In addition, the workshop will focus on developing and writing objectives, what constitutes a successful proposal, what should be avoided in the proposal, developing the proposal budget, proposal routing, along with a discussion of the ethics involved in grant and proposal preparation and common shortcoming in grants that are not funded.
Cost for this workshop is $35. All participants will receive bound presentation materials and lunch.
