UM officials visited India in October 2006 in an effort to forge partnerships with India's top universities. 

Dean Wei of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR), and IPAN officials visited Haryana Agricultural Unviersity (HAU) to discuss a partnership focusing on faculty and student exchanges in veterniary medicine, plant biotechnology and distance education.
