Teaching Theater Complex

Teaching Theater Complex

The Plant Sciences Teaching Theater complex includes a videoconferencing room with compressed video connections to over 30 Interactive Video Network (IVN) sites throughout the state. It also includes a networked classroom with 36 desktop computers. The Distance Learning unit provides management, training and on-site support.

Interactive Video Classroom

Interactive video is a compressed, full-motion 2-way live audio-video system that allows different sites to interact in real time. This technology allows for multiple sites at different locations to be linked together simultaneously.
Interactive video allows for classes or meetings to be delivered to individuals who are located at different sites throughout the state of Maryland, providing increased access to students or participants who might otherwise be unable to attend a face-to-face meeting. Interactive video also allows participants to reduce travel time and save on travel expenses.
