Request for Proposals

Fall 2008 & Spring 2009 Credit Courses
Plant Sciences Interactive Video Classroom

The Information and Education Technology Office of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources announces a Call for Proposals for scheduling credit courses in the Interactive Video Classroom in the Plant Science Building during Fall 2008 & Spring 2009 semesters.

These proposals should be submitted for:

  1. Delivery/receipt of full course to/from remote sites,
  2. Delivery/receipt of part of course to/from remote sites (example, one day a week), or
  3. Delivery/receipt of selected lectures (date already determined) to/from remote sites.

Because of the very short time frame, consideration will be given to requests in the order they are received. Submission of proposals will be handled electronically.

Please read the information below about what should be contained in your proposal before proceeding.

Proposal Process Information

Proposals should contain the following information:

  1. Course name and number, meeting time requirements, semester(s) involved, approximate size of the class, campus the course is originating from (host site), all remote locations, technicians and number of students at each location.
  2. A description of the class, how you anticipate using the technology, and your expected benefits for using interactive video that could not be achieved in another format. It is important to address how you will take advantage of the capabilities of the room. If you have questions about the capability of this interactive video system, contact Chris Sargent at (301) 405-4591.
  3. Any special needs you anticipate (software, support, external resources, etc.).
  4. Faculty name, campus address, department, phone number, and E-mail address.
  5. Each semester some courses are cut by departments due to funding. We request that you have your department e-mail Chris Sargent with a statement that the course will not be cut for lack of funding if it is scheduled for the Plant Sciences Interactive Video Classroom. Lack of enrollment during registration is not covered by this commitment.
