Why do I need to request course space for the class I’m teaching this semester?

When course files were migrated from WebCt to Blackboard, they were all sent to the content management collection section of Blackboard - this section amongst other things, serves as storage for your files and folders. Also, when you log into Blackboard from the homepage, the content management collection section is the third folder you will see.
To make your course available to students during the semester, a formal request will need to be sent to the BLackboard Team. You can access the course request form from the faculty support folder. Also, you can email your request to elms@umd.edu, or Jdavies2@umd.edu
Furthermore, if you're teaching a workshop during the fall of 07 to non-UMD students. A course and organization request will also need to be made, using the above referenced support channels, in order to set up your organizational space for the semester. All affiliate student accounts will be associated with this organizational space created by OIT.
When your course space is made available for the semester, you can then transfer, copy or move files from your content management folders, or local hard drives to the new destination.

How do you add affilate accounts to your course?
Adding Non-UMD Members
Affiliate IDs are required to enroll non-UMD individuals into Blackboard courses (e.g., participants in outreach programs and consortiums, invited guests, etc.).

How do you add new support staff to your course?
Adding Users (TA, Course Developer, Guest)
