DIRECTOR ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES
Exempt Staff, Full-time Regular Position

A full-time 12-month position is available immediately to direct, manage and guide all administrative, financial and personnel functions for the Business Office within the Department of Animal and Avian Sciences.
Responsibilities:
The person hired in this position will direct, manage and guide all administrative, financial and personnel functions for the Business Office within the Department of Animal and Avian Sciences. Activities include, but are not limited to the following: 1) preparation, review and accountability of State, federal formula, research grant, ledger 2 and foundation accounts totaling 10.2 million dollars annually, 2) payroll for ninety employees, 3) personnel liaison with the college, 4) financial and administrative reporting, 5) resource allocations, 6) facilities planning, 7) purchasing 8) the Visa card program, and 9) inventory. This individual serves as an advisor to the Department Chair, and to ANSC faculty members concerning administrative services, departmental policies, college policies, university policies, fiscal matters and budgets. The individual will work with the Chair and be responsible for personnel functions, financial and administrative reporting, resource allocations, facilities planning, and purchasing. This individual will oversee the Departmental State Capital Inventory and prepare contracts for approximately 24 contractual employees each year. This individual reviews grant proposal budgets prior to their final submission. This individual will serve as a liaison with the College Financial Officer concerning reports and commitments. This individual will provide Accountability for the department through the timely reconciliation of all financial accounts. This individual will oversee and approve payroll changes, Visa card purchases, and be engaged in the supervision of three employees in the business office.
Qualifications:
Required -
A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in the field of business.
The ideal candidate has five or more years of budgetary management experience, outstanding leadership, management and organizational skills.
A strong working knowledge of University accounting systems, financial policies and procedures.
Knowledge of basic computer applications.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills.
Preferred -
A Master's degree.
